The Detroit Red Wings will give rookie Michael Rasmussen every chance to show he belongs.
Rasmussen has struggled through his first eight NHL games, but the thinking within the organization is he’s still better off with the Wings than being sent back to juniors. Once Rasmussen plays 10 games his entry-level contract kicks in, but it sounds like the Wings already have decided to pass that threshold, even if they drag it out.
