Detroit Red Wings Lose in Overtime to Pittsburgh Penguins

It was the Red Wings that struck first in this high-scoring game. Darren Helm scored on the power play to give the Wings a 1-0 lead. Gustav Nyquist and Xavier Ouellet recorded the assist.

Pittsburgh would get the better start in the second period as they netted two goals in less than a minute to take a 2-1 advantage. Adam Johnson and Greg McKegg were the goalscorers for the Penguins.

Ben Street would level things soon after as he scored an unconventional goal to make it 2-2. Danny DeKeyser and Nyquist had the assists.
