The Detroit Red Wings came away from the 2014 NHL entry draft with the player who has become the foundation of their rebuilding process.

On Oct. 9, 2015, Dylan Larkin became the Wings’ first teenager to score in his NHL debut since Steve Yzerman in 1983. Larkin made the Wings at 19, was a 20-goal scorer in his rookie season, and has emerged as their most promising young player, and a leader.
