Considering the number of first-ballot Hockey Hall of Famers the Detroit Red Wings has had in recent years, it is notable that only one of those players ever won the Hart Memorial Trophy.
The NHL is rolling out 2020 trophy finalists, culminating with Tuesday’s announcement that the top vote-getters for the Hart Trophy are Edmonton Oilers center Leon Draisaitl, Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon and New York Rangers left wing Artemi Panarin. Trophy winners will be revealed during the conference finals, with the exact date and format to be determined.
