The Detroit Red Wings will have 6.7% odds of selecting No. 1 overall in June’s NHL entry draft.
The lottery, held April 29 in Toronto, will feature three drawings -- for first overall, second overall and third overall. The lottery includes the 14 teams that missed the playoffs, plus the expansion Vegas Golden Knights. Vegas will have the same odds as the team finishing 28th in the NHL and will pick no lower than sixth overall.
Colorado has the best odds, at 18%. The other teams with better odds than Detroit are Vancouver (12.1%), Arizona and Vegas (10.
