TAMPA -- After a quiet first half, Gustav Nyquist has surged for the Detroit Red Wings.
He takes a career-high 32 assists into tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena (7:30, FSD). After standing at four goals and 14 assists through 41 games, Nyquist has produced 0.82 points per game during the second half.
Racking up more assists than goals (10) is something of a return to his younger form.
“The first couple of years up here, I had more goals than assists, but previously, in college, I always had more assists and was more of a passer,” he said.
