Detroit Red Wings goalies reversed roles in December

It’s been a bit of a ride for the Detroit Red Wings in net this year. Detroit ended last season with a trio of Cam Talbot, Petr Mrazek, and Alex Lyon on the roster. Lyon walked in free agency and Steve Yzerman traded Mrazek away from the team that had drafted him (for the second time) to acquire John Gibson from the Anaheim Ducks.Â

Now, entering the new year and nearing the 50 percent completion mark of the season, let’s take a look at how the Red Wings incumbent goalie is doing this year.

Cam Talbot holds the title of second-oldest goalie in the league, behind only the New York Islanders’ Jonathan Quick.
