Dylan Larkin secured a huge victory for the United States in its first marquee matchup at the 2019 World Championship.
The U.S. team — which features Larkin, fellow Detroit Red Wings forward Luke Glendening, head coach Jeff Blashill and assistant coach Dan Bylsma — played powerhouse Finland Monday in Kosice, Slovakia. A 2-0 lead was erased by the Finns to force overtime, and Larkin came through with a goal at 3:47, his first of the tournament.
