One of Dylan Larkin’s goals this summer was to push himself to be a better player.
He’s making good on that desire at the World Championship, where he had his third straight two-assist game Wednesday to lead USA past Italy, 3-0, in Cologne, Germany.
Jimmy Howard only had to make nine saves to earn his first shutout of the tournament, as the Jeff Blashill-coached U.S. did everything well, from controlling the puck start to finish to killing off the two penalties taken to scoring at even strength, shorthanded and on a power play.
Larkin assisted on the latter two goals.
