Detroit Red Wings drop 11th straight in loss to Pittsburgh Penguins, 5-3

The Detroit Red Wings at least made their latest outing interesting, scoring twice in the third period.

Dylan Larkin had a goal and an assist before a lively Saturday night crowd at Little Caesars Arena, but the Pittsburgh Penguins used an empty net goal to prevail, 5-3, leaving the Wings 0-9-2 in their last 11 games.

It was a familiar sight much of the night — the Wings were scored on early, were scored on again. They kept working and had something to celebrate when Robby Fabbri scored his seventh goal of the season. But as has been the trend, the Wings were not able to build on their momentum and instead their opponent grabbed it right back.
