Detroit Red Wings dismal in 8th loss in 9 games, 5-1 to Dallas Stars

How did Detroit's four professional teams fare from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 in 2018? Ryan Ford, Detroit Free Press

DALLAS — After at least looking like they belonged on the ice their previous two games, the Detroit Red Wings looked dismal until it was too late to matter.

They rarely managed to get out of their own end the first two periods Saturday at American Airlines Center, and exposed Jonathan Bernier to one scoring chance after another. The result was a deserving 5-1 loss to the Dallas Stars.

The only positive was Dylan Larkin converting on a power play to extend his point streak to 13 games.
