The Detroit Red Wings have assigned 2018 first-round pick Filip Zadina to Grand Rapids to begin his pro career.
Much as the Wings like Zadina’s skill set, he needs to adjust to how much faster the game is at the NHL-level compared to juniors.
The Wings took a look at Zadina over seven preseason games, which saw him score one overtime goal, one power play goal, and contribute one assist.
