The Detroit Red Wings have made a a minor coaching staff change.
Adam Nightingale joins the team as an assistant coach/video, after spending last season as video coach for the Buffalo Sabres. Nightingale, 37, is currently in Cologne, Germany, where he is video coordinator for the U.S. team, which is coached by the Wings’ Jeff Blashill.
Nightingale was head coach at Shattuck St. Mary’s bantam team from 2014-16, winning a national title in 2016. He is originally from Cheboygan, and played collegiate hockey at Lake Superior State (2000-02) and Michigan State (2003-05). He played pro hockey in the East Coast Hockey League.
