The 2016 draft looks like it’ll boost the Detroit Red Wings’ defense, and may hold a future starting goaltender.

Two of the Wings’ top three selections from three years ago already have made a footprint in the NHL. Defense is an especially hard position for young players because errors are magnified more so than those committed by forwards, but Dennis Cholowski and Filip Hronek both have made cases for being contributors.
