Connor McDavid favorite for Hart Trophy; no Red Wings among MVP favorites

Oddsmakers believe Sergei Federov's spot as the last Red Wing to win the league MVP trophy will be safe this season.

Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers has collected 87 goals and 256 points in 209 games since entering the NHL. So, it's no surprise he's the favorite to win the Hart Trophy as the league's most valuable player.

McDavid at 10/3 odds, tops the list from Bovada.lv. McDavid won the Hart in 2016-17, his first full NHL season.

Two-time Hart winner Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins is next at 13/2, followed by three-time Hart winner Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals and a pair of Toronto Maple Leafs -- Auston Matthews and John Tavares - at 10/1.
