Detroit Red Wings owner Chris Ilitch and Steve Yzerman, the team’s new general manager, were up on a stage, posing for pictures after a magical moment in franchise history.

“I’m very, very happy,” Marian Ilitch said, watching them. “I was just hanging onto my two boys… I’m ecstatic. This is the best thing that has happened to me lately.”
