Detroit — When he faced questions from the media Tuesday after the Red Wings optional morning skate, coach Jeff Blashill clearly was keen to set some matters straight.
First, Dylan Larkin’s work on the penalty kill during practice does not mean he immediately will begin a larger role when the Wings play with players in the box.
And not only is he happy with his penalty killers, whom he named one by one, Blashill believes that while the fourth line has been on the ice in the third period with some frequency when leads have evaporated, it results from more than mistakes by that line.
