GRAND RAPIDS - Dennis Cholowski was on the bench when the Grand Rapids Griffins and Manitoba Moose launched into an extended fight late in the first period of Wednesday's playoff game.
It gave the rookie defenseman all he needed to know about the Calder Cup Playoffs
"You have that sort of line brawl near the beginning of the game and I'm watching that, and it was a bit of an eye-opener," Cholowski said. "But you get used to it."
The Red Wings' No. 1 pick in 2016 made his AHL postseason debut in Game 3 of the divisional semifinals at Van Andel Arena, a 6-3 loss that puts the Griffins on the brink of elimination in the best-of-five series.
