Ben Street Signs One-Year Extension with Red Wings

NHL.com reported that Street signed the one-year extension on Tuesday.

Street spent the 2016-17 season with the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League. Although, he did appear in six games for the Red Wings producing one assist. Additionally, he has 29 other National Hockey League appearances for the Colorado Avalanche and Calgary Flames.

The 30-year-old had 55 points in 62 appearances for the Griffins, which ranked him second on the team in regular season scoring. In the postseason, he was also very productive, producing 21 points in 19 games. Street was instrumental in the team’s Calder Cup win, which included this double overtime game-winner in Game 2 of the finals.
