RALEIGH, N.C. -- Anthony Mantha scored twice and the Detroit Red Wings rolled through their challenging schedule with another victory.
Andreas Athanasiou scored in overtime for a second straight day to push the Wings past the Carolina Hurricanes, 4-3, Monday at PNC Arena, earning the WIngs as 2-0 start as they play three times in three days.
Athanasioiu was pushed into goaltender Eddie Lack on the play, and Lack received medical attention on the ice. Wings players stayed on the ice as Lack was being helped onto a stretcher.
Lack gave a thumbs up as he was carted off the ice.
