Valentine, Davis, LeVert out to solidify draft status

It doesn’t matter how they get there.

It only matters that they do.

For three of the state’s top prospects — Michigan State’s Denzel Valentine and Deyonta Davis, and Michigan’s Caris LeVert — the roads all converge in Chicago for the NBA combine, which begins Wednesday.

Valentine and LeVert, both guards, were four-year standouts, while Davis was a freshman phenom projected to be selected in the top 15 of the draft on June 23. It’s a similar outlook for Valentine, the Associated Press national player of the year.

Things are a little murkier for LeVert, who flirted with leaving early for the draft after his sophomore and junior years, but has been beset by foot injuries and played out his career with the Wolverines.
