July has free agency and Summer League.
September has training camp and the Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony.
August has…the schedule release? Yeah, that’s about it.
For Detroit Pistons fans (and basketball fans in general) the eighth month of the year is arguably the most grueling. As I like to say, the annual dog days of the NBA off-season begin on Aug. 1.
You know the routine.
All the notable free-agents have already made their decisions. The Pistons’ roster has been set for a few weeks now. Even Carmelo Anthony has finally settled on his next destination (be happy it wasn’t Detroit).
