Dwane Casey’s first season with the Detroit Pistons can be considered as a success. After being fired by the Toronto Raptors, Dwane was named the NBA Coach of the Year. In the award show, he took shots at the Toronto Raptors and thanked Tom Gores for the opportunity with his new team.
Dwane Casey: "I'mma say this… when you get fired, which I did recently… I don't know if you knew that or not, after winning coach of the year… you doubt yourself a little bit…" goes on to thanks Pistons ownership for believing in him.
This year with a new team and a new organization, he had expectations to help put the Pistons in a playoff spot.
