Stifling Pistons D – just 33 second-half points for Orlando – earns them a win

FAST BREAKDOWN

Three quick observations on Monday night’s 103-88 win over the Orlando Magic at Little Caesars Arena

DEFENSE DOES IT – The Pistons have been at their worst in third quarters this season and it looked like the pattern would continue when they opened Monday’s second half with turnovers on their first two possessions. But they pulled themselves out of the pattern by playing as well defensively as they have all season for the rest of the half, holding Orlando to 15 points on 5 of 22 shooting in the third quarter and to 33 points on 29 percent shooting in the half when the Magic scored just 11 baskets, three coming in the last few minutes.
