DETROIT - A video clip of the first five minutes of the third quarter Friday, when Wendell Carter Jr. was scoring at will, might have indicated a disastrous night defensively for the Detroit Pistons.
It was only a really rotten short segment. The Pistons actually turned in one of their better defensive performances of the season in a 107-88 victory over the Chicago Bulls at Little Caesars Arena.
Sure, they were playing a 5-18 team. But the Pistons held the dynamic Zach LaVine to eight points, and their perimeter defense contributed to the Bulls' terrible 3 for 21 night from 3-point range.
