Pistons reportedly lost $45.1 million last season, most in the NBA

The math itself isn't simple, but the bottom line is no NBA team lost more money last season than the Detroit Pistons.

That's according to an extensive ESPN report, which details how things shook out after the league's revenue sharing. In total, nine NBA teams lost money even after revenue sharing.

According to ESPN, 10 teams transferred $201 million combined in revenue-sharing to 15 other teams in 2016-17. Detroit was one of those teams that received money ($17.6 million) to help offset a league-high loss of $63.2 million.
