Pistons notes: Lorenzo Brown could be team's third point guard in 2016-17

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Stan Van Gundy had jokes. He pointed out the Detroit Pistons' 29.5-percent shooting from the field, 5.6-percent shooting on 3-pointers, and 21 turnovers, and credited associate head coach Bob Beyer for "one of the all-time great coaching wins."

When the topic turned to Lorenzo Brown, the jokes stopped.

Asked whether the Pistons might look no farther than their current roster for a third point guard, and keep Brown's non-guaranteed contract rather than look outside, Van Gundy replied, "Absolutely."

"He's played really well here, poised," Van Gundy said.

The Pistons like Brown's physical length and his mental grasp.
