Presumably, this person would work under Ken Catanella, who’s the assistant general manager in charge of analytics.
The Pistons have a sound structure, but building on it helps. Stats are similar traditional scouting. The more feet on the ground, the better off you’ll likely be. There are infinite ways to analyze basketball, so there’s strength in numbers.
If Tom Gores is willing to pay an additional employee, the Pistons will be better off.
