Charles (Redford Twp., Mich.): With Reggie Jackson being bought out, can the Pistons use the cap space for a Christian Wood contract extension?
Langlois: We’ve dealt with this topic in Mailbag previously but, no, the Pistons can’t extend Christian Wood’s contract. It has nothing to do with cap space, so Jackson’s buyout has no bearing on Wood’s status. Only contracts of three years in length are eligible for a contract extension.
