CHICAGO -- The Detroit Pistons have needs in the backcourt and inside, but one known theme in their NBA Draft Combine strategy is to interview any point guard who might fall around their No. 18 pick in the June 23 draft.
How much value does that pick have?
The Pistons have every intention of finding out. General manager Jeff Bower called the first-round pick "a chip" that will be valuated over the next month in his many conversations with fellow league executives.
But if the Pistons keep the No. 18 pick, which they already tried to trade once before voiding the February trade for Donatas Motiejunas, a point guard clearly is high on their list of possibilities.
