Detroit — Open shot after open shot. Basket after basket. The Boston Celtics were unrelenting on offense, taking it right to the Pistons, unlike any of the first four games this season.
The result was a dominating performance by the favorite to win the Eastern Conference, in the toughest test in the early part of the season.
The Pistons didn’t have an answer for the Celtics, who used a 25-8 run — one of many long scoring spurts in the game — in the second quarter to push their lead to 26 and rolled from there, en route to a 109-89 blowout victory on Saturday night at Little Caesars Arena.
