Pistons’ Drummond, Morris won’t play vs. Hawks

Already without point guard Reggie Jackson, the Pistons will be more shorthanded for Thursday night’s preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks.

Coach Stan Van Gundy told reporters following Thursday’s shootaround that center Andre Drummond (illness) and Marcus Morris (knee tendinitis) will miss the exhibition game at Atlanta.

The Pistons have lost the first two preseason games and without three of their starters, they’ll lean more heavily on their reserves. Aron Baynes will start at center and Jon Leuer at power forward. Tobias Harris moves to small forward, along with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope at shooting guard and Ish Smith replacing Jackson at point guard.
