The end of the Stan Van Gundy era with the Detroit Pistons also means a change at some point for the Grand Rapids Drive.
Van Gundy, who the Pistons announced Monday will not return as president or coach after four seasons, is the only leader known to the NBA G League affiliate that just completed its fourth season.
"I know it's been an up and down couple of years, but Stan was extremely supportive in laying the groundwork for the team and helping put the basketball infrastructure together," said Drive President Steve Jbara.
"You know, it's tough because he was with us through the whole situation, but it's a business and it has to be done at times.
