Detroit Pistons hire Sidney Lowe, Sean Sweeney as assistant coaches

Detroit Pistons coach Dwane Casey has added Sidney Lowe and Sean Sweeney to his staff as assistant coaches while DJ Bakker has been hired to the basketball operations staff as a player development coach.

This is Lowe's third stint with the Pistons as a coach or player. He spent the 2005-06 season as lead assistant to head coach Flip Saunders and played six games for the Pistons as a point guard in 1984-85.

Lowe, 58, was a head coach for parts of five seasons with the Timberwolves and Grizzlies, posting a record of 79-228 (.257). He coached five seasons at North Carolina State, his alma mater, going 86-78 (.
