AUBURN HILLS - The Detroit Pistons will have a wide array of options with their lone draft pick, 42nd overall, next Thursday.
Odds are against a player selected that low to have a significant impact in the NBA, so the Pistons essentially are seeking a diamond in the rough during their pre-draft workouts.
They worked out five players this week at their practice facility. Among them, 6-8 forward Alize Johnson of Missouri State and 6-4 guard Dakota Mathias of Purdue might have the best chance to be drafted.
