Detroit Pistons: Arnie Kander joins Timberwolves as VP of sports performance

Arnie Kander spent the last 23 years of his life with the Detroit Pistons. 22 of those years as the strength and conditioning coach–under Van Gundy his title changed to physical therapist.

The Minnesota Timberwolves hired Arnie Kander today as vice president of sports performance.

Kander spent the past 23 seasons with the Pistons, where he most recently held the title of physical therapist. He began with the Pistons in the spring of 1992 as the team’s first strength and conditioning coach.

We knew Kander would join the Minnesota Timberwolves, but his role on the team was unclear.
