Fans of the Detroit Pistons may not think of backup point guard Dennis Schroder as a candidate for the Hall of Fame, but after winning another title and MVP with Germany, he may be a lock.
Germany beat Turkey for the 2025 EuroBasket title, with Schroder taking home the MVP honors after averaging over 20 points and seven assists in the tournament. Schroder turned it up in the last two games and dropped 12 assists in the Final, which was the most in a EuroBasket final in three decades.
Although Schroder was very good in his role for the Pistons last season, this might be shocking to some fans who view him more as a journeyman backup, not a player who can lead a team to titles.
