Dan DeVos handles balancing act as his Magic play in his hometown

GRAND RAPIDS - Dan DeVos' seat was next to the Grand Rapids Drive bench but his loyalty, at least for Wednesday, was with the other team.

The high-profile Grand Rapids businessman was at the DeltaPlex Arena to watch the Lakeland Magic, the NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, a team purchased by his father, Rich DeVos, in 1991.

Dan DeVos has been chairman of the NBA team since 1991 but going to see the Magic play the Pistons in Detroit isn't the same as seeing his G League team playing in his hometown. That's a bit more of a balancing act.
