DETROIT - The Detroit Pistons were off to their best start in 10 years. Then they faced one of the best teams in the NBA and some of their weaknesses were exposed, like shooting, defense and depth.
The Boston Celtics blew open the game in the second quarter and, behind their deep bench and balanced attack, defeated the Pistons 109-89 at Little Caesars Arena.
If this was a learning experience for the Pistons (4-1), they better learn quickly. They face the Celtics (4-2) again Tuesday at TD Garden.
Blake Griffin entered the night averaging 33.8 points, second-best in the league.
