Arnie Kander has grown from man, to myth, to legend for many Detroit Pistons fans. The former head athletic trainer known for his innovative approach and for a terrific run of health for the franchise during the Going to Work era made him a fan favorite in the early 2000s.
That legend only grew once Kander left and Detroit’s injury luck evaporated. Now, the team relies on the oft-injured Reggie Jackson and Blake Griffin for a shot at the playoffs, relevance and the future. The organization can ill afford an injury to one its stars.
