Why potential Detroit Lions pick Derrick Brown is a better prospect than Ndamukong Suh

Ten years ago, the Detroit Lions landed a difference-making defensive tackle with the second pick in the NFL draft, Ndamukong Suh.

This year, with the No. 3 pick, the Lions could add an interior lineman that one long-time talent evaluator said is even better.

Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy, a long-time NFL scout for teams like the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, said he considers Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown a better prospect than Suh was coming out of Nebraska in 2010 “because of the motor and the character.”

“He’s the case study moving forward on why you come back for your senior year cause he made himself a heck of a lot of money by coming back,” Nagy said.
