Head coach Jim Caldwell announced Monday that tight end Brandon Pettigrew was done for the season with a torn ACL.
"He will not be back this year," Caldwell said. "(I'm) saddened by that because of the fact that he's such a warrior and done a tremendous job for us and is a great leader."
How will the Lions fill the void left by Pettigrew? For starters, second-year tight end Eric Ebron will have to take on an increased role.
"Three weeks to play as hard and as good as I can," Ebron said Monday after practice.
