Unsung hero of the week: Big ‘Beauys’ step up big time

On Saturday night, the Lions’ second- and third-team offenses looked like night and day when compared to their initial preseason performances. While newly-signed quarterback Josh Johnson struggled to get in sync with his new team, third-stringer David Fales had all day to go through reads and show off his best self behind a strong showing from the reserve linemen.

I couldn’t decide on whether to crown the entire second-team offensive line or just Benzschawel himself, but given the mess that has been the Lions’ offensive guard situation as of late it, was only fitting he got some name-dropped recognition.
