New Lions team president Rod Wood said in his introductory press conference last week the team planned to hire a consultant with an extensive football background to help advise them in their search for a permanent general manager.
The team selected former Baltimore Colts, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants general manager Ernie Accorsi to help consult them in that search.
Accorsi is a member of the NFL Advisory Board, along with Bill Polian, Tony Dungy, Ron Wolf, John Madden, Bill Peterson, Charley Casserly, Dennis Green, Mike Holmgren and James Harris.
“We are most pleased that Ernie Accorsi will serve as consultant for our GM search,” Wood said in a statement.
