Tuesday open thread: Should the Lions play Matthew Stafford for the rest of 2018?

After an embarrassing performance against the (equally) lowly Buffalo Bills, the Detroit Lions playoff hopes were officially dashed in Orchard Park this past Sunday.

In the first half, the Lions offense managed to tag 13 points to the scoreboard, taking a lead into the halftime recess, but Detroit’s offense would turn cold on an unseasonably warm afternoon in Buffalo, posting zero points in the second half and losing the game 14-13.

Blunders on special teams certainly didn’t do the team any favors as the game progressed. Matt Prater missed his 48-yard field goal attempt after making his previous 14 in a row and Don Muhlbach’s bad snap on the point after Detroit’s first touchdown were certainly pivotal box score moments, but Detroit’s offense as a whole lacked any sense of urgency or aggressiveness in a must-win game.
