Sometimes it’s easy to think a top five pick is hard to screw up. But you don’t have to look far into the past to a myriad of teams who have fallen victim to over-drafting or just plain missing with their top five draft picks.
The Lions have actually had pretty good success in the past, landing guys like Calvin Johnson, Matthew Stafford, Ndamukong Suh, and Ezekiel Ansah all inside the top five.
The trend has been to put Jeff Okudah or Chase Young to the Lions at number three, but that’s no guarantee.
