The Lions have the worst run defense in the NFL. They're trying to figure out why.

ALLEN PARK -- Paul Pasqualoni's first football job was as an assistant at Cheshire High School in 1972. He moved up to the college ranks as an assistant at South Connecticut State in 1976, then became a head coach for the first time at West Connecticut State in 1982.

Eventually he moved on to Syracuse, where he became the most successful head coach in school history. He's spent the bulk of the last 18 years coaching NFL defenses, with a stint as Connecticut's head coach tucked in there somewhere.

The point is this: This guy has been in the game a long time.
