Over the last decade, Detroit has turned into a wasteland for professional sports.
The Lions stink, the Red Wings are awful, the Tigers are in a miserable rebuild and the Pistons are beyond disappointing.
But today, I am filled with hope that everything is going to get better. OK, I’ll admit the spiked eggnog might still be talking. But I’m serious. Soon enough, that ball will drop in New York City. The calendar will flip and, thankfully, this God-forsaken decade will come to an end, giving everybody a chance to start anew.
