One of the few criticisms of offensive tackle Taylor Decker has been his arm length.
Decker, the player the Detroit Lions selected 16th overall Thursday out of Ohio State, stands 6-feoot-7 and weighs about 320 pounds. But in a league obsessed with measurements down to the most infinitesimal fraction, Decker has been widely scrutinized for having less-than-ideal arm length.
There seems to be consensus that he has arms that are shorter than 34 inches: 33 ¾ inches by some accounts, 32 7/8 by others.
So, what exactly is Decker’s arm length?
“Um, I have no clue what my arm length is because, I mean, there’s been so many different measurements,” Decker said during a conference call with Detroit reporters.
