Stock up: Mychal Kendricks signs with Seahawks, jail time pending

The Seattle Seahawks didn't have to worry about a long-term deal for free agent Mychal Kendricks.

The linebacker will be otherwise occupied shortly after this season wraps up.

Kendricks pled guilty last week to insider trading, and faces 30-37 months in prison. The Browns released him after the initial charges last month.

But that sentencing isn't until January, and the Seahawks need a linebacker.

K.J. Wright is recovering from offseason surgery and is not expected to play in Seattle's game Monday night against Chicago. Rookie Shaquem Griffin started in his place in Week 1, but Pete Carroll has opted for some reinforcements.
